Infants

Welcome to the Infant Room!  Generally, the children in this group are between six weeks and nine to twelve months old.  It is our goal to provide excellent care for your child. Depending on your child's age, activities will be provided to support your child's different stages of development.  We provide activities that encourage rolling over, sitting up, crawling and walking.  We encourage development of small motor skills such as stacking blocks, fitting shapes together and turning the pages of a book.Children are rocked, played with and sang to.  We encourage the development of language skills through lots of conversation, music and stories.
Offer Quality Developmental Learning Experiences: We know from research that programs that successfully contribute to young people’s learning and healthy development offer a critical set of supports and opportunities.These supports and opportunities include:

• a physically and emotionally safe environment;

• caring relationships with adults and peers who can provide guidance and support;

• learning activities that are new and challenging;

• responsible decision-making and leadership; and

• increased understanding of, and positive involvement in, their own communities.

After School Program

Pre-School

Welcome to the Preschool Class!  Your child will be learning all kinds of terrific things.  As with all classes, we try to develop age appropriate activities in three main areas: Cognitive, social/Emotional and Physical.  There is time everyday to hear stories, sing songs, go outside and of course PLAY!In the cognitive area we will be introducing literacy skills through stories, letters and sounds.  We will be working on math concepts such as colors, shapes, sizes, numbers, matching, one to one correspondence, etc.  And many of our themes lend themselves well to Science and Social Studies units.In the social/emotional area we try to develop life long skills such as empathy, getting along with others, sharing, negotiating and manner while fostering a positive self-esteem within each child.For the physical area, we work on activities that develop both large (running, jumping, skipping, throwing and catching) and small (stringing beads, cutting with scissors, puzzles) motor skills.
